Explore Your Service Dog Partnership Options

Sunrise Service Dogs recognizes the growing need for service dogs and the meaningful difference the right partnership can make in a person’s daily life. Our redesigned programs are built to provide individuals with a structured, supportive path toward greater independence with a service dog by their side.

Applications are opening for our Partnership Pathways, including:

• Puppy-to-Partner Pathway
  Begin with a Sunrise Service Dogs purpose-bred puppy and progress through our structured training phases as you and your dog learn and grow together.

• Owner Dog-to-Partner Pathway
  Already have a dog? Eligible dogs may be evaluated for participation in our program and, if accepted, enter at an appropriate phase based on their age, temperament, skills, and readiness.

• Limited Public Access Ready Service Dogs Pathway

  We will also have limited opportunities for Public Access Ready service dogs to be matched with approved applicants.

  These partnerships are designed to thoughtfully match each dog’s temperament, abilities, and trained skills with the individual needs of the handler. With this training pathway, our professional service dog team takes the lead in raising and training the dog for approximately 18 months, including the foundational skills needed to become a service dog.

  As the dog progresses, our training team works with the handler to teach the skills needed for their specific needs and goals. Once the dog is ready, we provide hands-on handler training to help you confidently work together as a team and continue building your partnership in everyday life.

  This pathway is available in limited numbers each year to ensure we can provide the individualized training and support needed for every successful partnership. Because these placements are limited, we encourage interested individuals to apply early.
